Study in orange

Sometimes we make our own folk art here on Route 66, a journey. Does anyone know what kind of wildflower this is?

  1. Orange lichens on the rocks, as well? Nice. Diplacus aurantiacus, aka Sticky Monkey Flower...http://www.laspilitas.com/nature-of-california/plants/diplacus-aurantiacus

    1. There should be a "mimulus" in there somewhere...I think the proper scientific name is mimulus aurantiacus. Not sure where diplacus comes from...commonly called sticky monkey flower. :)
